Those of you who know me know that I like planning things in advance. So when I was only told the night before what the plans would be for the weekend I turned 25 , I gasped with excitement and relief, and ran into my room to pack! We were headed to Grand Rapids for the weekend, and we would be leaving first thing in the morning!
With two years in the books, Brett and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary with some good eats! Fun fact about me- I keep a running log of places I find in Chicago with gluten-free options so that I can review them as soon as I have the opportunity. So when it came time to pick a place to eat for our Friday night celebration, I handed Brett the list and told him to surprise me. On Friday night at 8:00pm sharp our uber rolled up to Hub 51, and we eagerly headed inside.

So last minute- we booked an Air BnB and committed to two extra nights in hopes of soaking up a little honkey tonk. Little did we know Southwest Air had other plans for us…
There’s really nothing more refreshing than a weekend at the lake. Hopping on the boat with your best friends, jumping in the lake, playing cards, making s’mores; nothing makes you feel more like a kid again than acting like a kid. Throw in some of your best friends and you’ve got a bona-vied winner of a weekend.
So when my best friend called me up and asked if I’d like to have such a weekend with some of our best friends from college, I immediately said “yes!” and ran into my closet to rummage through all of my swim suits.
